In an era of corporate greed, irresponsibility, and overall malice toward the general public, we believe it is important for companies to take a stand against it.
So our customers, partners, and suppliers know what they are getting into, we have decided to publish our business ethics for all to see.
We'll start with the basics:
- Timmins Technologies, LLC will never knowingly violate any local, state, or federal law, for any reason, nor for any price.
- Timmins Technologies, LLC will clearly state any bias or influence that may exist or be percieved to exist on any recommendation or purchase, be it simple: "They have always been straight in their business dealings, and reliable", complex: "Company Y is known to commit financial crimes, and has been involved in numerous breach of contract suits.", or financial: "We get commission from company Y if you purchase their product."
- No recommendation or purchase for a customer will be made with any sort of sales commission or any other reward towards Timmins Technologies, LLC or its employees as a factor.
- Timmins Technologies, LLC will not engage in anti-competitive or price fixing schemes.
- Timmins Technologies, LLC will disclose any potential conflicts of interest at any time where such a disclosure is appropriate.
- Timmins Technologies, LLC doesn't believe in charging customers for learning experiences, and thus prefers to create contracts based on a per-project basis, rather than an hourly or per-diem rate. This often turns out to be to the benefit of both us and the customer, since you don't pay for our learning experiences, and we don't have the burden of exact time accounting, and arguing over what should be billable. You get a quote that often closely matches the invoice, and we get the freedom of doing our work rather than keeping track of work
- Timmins Technologies, LLC believes in implementing projects in a standard way, wherever possible. This doesn't mean that a project has to be done the same way others do it, but that the setup, configuration, and programming style will generally be self-documenting and obvious to any professional in the field who is familiar with the work done. Hiding configuration files, reinventing the wheel needlessly, and custom compiling programs where vendor provided packages will do the job are things we don't like doing.
- Our work speaks for itself. It's our belief that if the job's not done right, it's not done. If a customer ever has any question or concern, it's our mission to make it right wherever practical.
- We will not assist others nor engage in behavior generally percieved as "sleazy", such as spam or other invasive marketing techniques, spyware, or any other activity motivated by profit and done to the detriment of everyone.
- It is our goal to be open and honest regarding all aspects of our operations. If you have a question, feel free to ask. Unless dictated otherwise by common sense or our privacy policy, you'll probably get the answer.
Your privacy is important. Unless it is otherwise known publically, Timmins Technologies will not divulge your status as a client, or details beyond that you have been a customer previously and brief description of the work performed (potentially with a timeframe attached) where necessary to demonstrate our ability to perform a specific task. Records indicating your location, name, contact information, and other details will only be released:
- With your explicit consent
- If the information is already public (no point in hiding your address if it's in the yellow pages!)
- If compelled to do so by any search warrant, subpoena, or other legally issued request compelling us to do so.
- If you are in default, we may inform others of that status in any way we see fit.
- Where a conflict of interest would occur, Timmins Technologies may disclose information necessary to ensure people are properly notified of said conflict.
